Animanimale, Upanishad’s new album, is a true revelation. The ethnic-electronic territory which has always been the group’s stylistic signature, is enriched by powerful acoustic influences, coming from the guitar vibrations and the beautiful female vocals. A new feature for an Upanishad album, however, is the fact that the tracks are sung in Italian, but an Italian still in line with the atmosphere of research and world music: the lyrics go "beyond appearances", towards a depth which is reached via emotion, play, instinct.
