"Apologia Di Un Canovaccio" is the debut
album by Neaskenč, a promising new band from Ravenna inspired and lead by the voice of
Sara Cicognani. With this album Neaskenč have released a work that is both foolish and
intriguing, a balance between jazz, ethnic music, tango and pure song writing. Using the
sounds of tammorre (ethnic drums), fretless bass, guitars with a noise flavour, the
mandolin and the sitar Neaskenč create their own scene, a kind of new beginning for
Italian music, an attempt to be understood in the humblest sense of the term. Produced by
Guido Facchini (Quintorigo) and pre-mastered by Serse Mai (from the early Vasco Rossi
releases), "Apologia Di Un Canovaccio" will amaze even the most attentive and
demanding fans of the national Indy scene.
