Rosie Wiederkehr: Vocals
Born in Lucerna, Switzerland, she began to learn to sing and play the guitar at
an early age, soon making her first stage performances with various rock and funk bands.
She made a move towards ethnic music in 1986 through her work with groups playing
traditional Southern Italian and also African music. In 1990 she joined Agricantus and
began to further her studies into the vocal traditions of Southern Italy. Apart from
Agricantus, she has also taken part in recording projects with artists such as
Trancendental and Enzo Avitabile and was the voice to the soundtracks of the films
Hamam the Turkish Bath and The Gardens of Eden. In 1997 she gave
an excellent interpretation of Folk Songs by Luciano Berio and in 1998 gave
rise to the multimedia project Welt Labyrinth together with Tonj Acquaviva.
