Secret is a female rock group from Romania, formed in 1989, the year of the revolution. Their name derives from the clandestine life the group was forced to lead, playing for friends, at friends' houses or in hidden cellars, just like all the other musicians who were opposed to the regime.

The influence of the sounds of their country can be fully heard and appreciated in their music, an ethnorock which is aggressive and yet threaded with a romantic and typically feminine feeling, an ethnorock which is a logical summary of their experiences to date in hard rock comprising an awareness of their country and their own personal origins.
